QuickCart+ Privacy Policy
QuickCart+ is an iPhone app for writing down shopping items quickly, from Lock Screen and Home Screen widgets. This page explains what the app does with your information.
- There are no accounts, no login and no iCloud sync. Your shopping list is stored on your iPhone, and the developer does not receive it.
- The app shows banner ads from Google AdMob. Google's ad software collects some device data when ads load, starting after the first-run walkthrough.
- Starting with version 1.3, after the first-run walkthrough the app shows a short explanation and then the iOS tracking permission prompt, once. If you do not allow tracking, the iOS advertising identifier is not available to the ad software, and no feature is blocked. Earlier versions do not show this prompt.
- Users in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a Google consent form first, and can change their choice at any time in Settings → Privacy Settings.
- Starting with version 1.4, QuickCart+ sends anonymous usage statistics to PostHog to learn how features are used. It never sends your shopping list or anything you type, and you can turn this off in Settings.
- In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, usage statistics are off until you turn them on in Settings.
- Deleting the app deletes your list.
1. Who is responsible
The operator of QuickCart+ is Kirade (an individual developer). Questions about privacy: kirade.apps+quickcart@gmail.com.
Person responsible for privacy: Kirade, kirade.apps+quickcart@gmail.com.
2. What stays on your iPhone
QuickCart+ stores the following only on your iPhone, in storage shared by the app and its widgets:
- Your shopping list items: the text you typed, when you added each item and when you checked it
- Whether you have finished the first-run walkthrough
Starting with version 1.4, the app also stores on your iPhone whether anonymous usage statistics are on and, if they have been on, the random identifier used for them and any usage events not yet sent (see section 4).
QuickCart+ has no accounts, no server of its own and no cloud sync. The developer does not receive your shopping list, and the app does not give it to the ad software or to the usage statistics service. The widgets read the same data on your iPhone to show your items. Deleting the app deletes all of this data. If you back up your iPhone (to iCloud or a computer), the backup can include this data, as with most apps.
3. Ads (Google AdMob)
QuickCart+ shows a banner ad from Google AdMob at the bottom of the main screen. Google's ad software (Google Mobile Ads SDK, together with Google's User Messaging Platform SDK for the consent form) starts after you finish the first-run walkthrough, or at launch if you already have. Ads load directly from your iPhone to Google. They do not pass through any server of the developer, and the developer does not receive this data. The app does not give the ad software your shopping list.
According to Google's data disclosure for the Google Mobile Ads SDK, the SDK collects:
- Device ID, for advertising and analytics
- IP address and approximate location (the IP address may be used to estimate the general location of a device)
- Advertising data, such as ads you have seen
- Product interactions, such as taps on ads, to improve ad performance
- Crash logs, performance data and other diagnostic data, to diagnose problems and improve the SDK (performance data may also be used for displaying ads)
Google's consent form software (User Messaging Platform) collects approximate location, performance data and product interactions to run the consent form.
Tracking permission (version 1.3 and later). When ads start, after the first-run walkthrough, Google's User Messaging Platform shows users in all regions a short explanation and then the iOS tracking permission prompt (App Tracking Transparency), once. If you allow tracking, Google's ad software can use the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) to show personalised ads. If you do not allow it, the ad software cannot use it. QuickCart+ does not block any feature based on your choice, and you can change it in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Versions before 1.3 do not show this prompt, and in those versions the iOS advertising identifier is not available to the ad software.
Google's use of this information is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in Google's Privacy Policy.
Ad choices
- Users in places where the law requires it, such as the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, see a Google consent form before ads start. If you do not consent to personalised ads, you may see ads that are not personalised, or limited ads.
- Starting with version 1.3, users in all regions see a short explanation and then the iOS tracking permission prompt, once, when ads start (see above). If you do not allow tracking, you may see ads that are not personalised.
- To change your choice: in QuickCart+, tap the gear button to open Settings, then Privacy Settings (shown only to users who need it); on iPhone, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (version 1.3 and later).
- QuickCart+ does not block any feature based on your ad choices. Ads are part of the main screen and are not an optional feature, so there is no setting that removes them.
4. Usage statistics (PostHog, version 1.4 and later)
Starting with version 1.4, to understand how features are used and to improve the app, QuickCart+ sends usage events to the analytics service of PostHog, Inc. Earlier versions do not send usage statistics.
What is sent
- What happened in the app and its kind: the app was opened, and where it was opened from (such as the app icon, a Lock Screen or Home Screen widget, Siri, Shortcuts or the Action button, a control in Control Center or on the Lock Screen, or a QuickCart+ link); an item was added, and where (in the app, or with Siri or Shortcuts without opening the app), and for items added in the app, how many you had added in a row; an item was checked; Clear Done was used, with a range for how many items it cleared (1, 2–5, 6–10, or 11 or more); the widget tip card was shown, tapped or closed; which kinds of QuickCart+ widgets you have placed (Lock Screen, Home Screen, or both); the app asked iOS to show the App Store rating prompt (the app does not know whether it was shown or what you chose); Send Feedback was tapped
- The time of each event, app name and version, build type (App Store, TestFlight or development), iOS version, device model and type, language, time zone, screen size, network type (Wi-Fi or cellular)
- A random identifier created on your iPhone for this installation of the app, and a random identifier for each session of use. The installation identifier is deleted with the app, and a new one is created if you reinstall.
What is not sent
- Your shopping list items or anything you type, the items shown in widgets, the content of feedback mail, your name, your email address, the advertising identifier (IDFA), device identifiers such as the identifier for vendors (IDFV), or location
- The app does not create a user profile and does not link usage events to anything that identifies you. PostHog receives your IP address while the data is transmitted, but the project is set not to derive location from it and not to store it.
When it is sent. Nothing is sent before you finish the first-run walkthrough. Events from that time are kept in your iPhone's memory. If usage statistics are on, they are sent after the walkthrough with the time they happened; if not, they are discarded. After that, events are sent in batches while you use the app.
How to turn it off or on. In QuickCart+, tap the gear button to open Settings, then turn Send Anonymous Usage Statistics off or on. For users whose App Store country is in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the switch is off by default and nothing is sent until you turn it on. The app does not show a pop-up asking about this. Users elsewhere have it on by default. Until the app can tell your App Store country, it sends nothing. Usage after you turn the switch off is not sent. Events that were already waiting on your iPhone at that moment may still be sent while the app stays open, or later if you turn the switch back on. The app works the same whether the switch is on or off.
Where it is stored. PostHog stores the data in the United States (PostHog US Cloud).
Retention. Events are kept by PostHog for 1 year and are no longer queryable after that. The developer uses them only to understand how the app is used and to improve it. How PostHog handles data is described in PostHog's Privacy Policy.
5. Feedback mail (version 1.4 and later)
In Settings, Send Feedback opens your mail app with a message to kirade.apps+quickcart@gmail.com. The message contains the app version and build number, your iOS version and your iPhone model, and never your shopping list. You can edit it before sending. The developer receives it only if you send it, and uses it only to answer you and to fix problems. The mail passes through your own mail provider. If no mail app can open it, the app shows the address so you can copy it. Feedback emails are kept only as long as needed to reply and resolve the issue, and are deleted on request. To ask for deletion, write to the same address.
6. Users in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland
- Personalised ads are based on the consent you give in the Google consent form. You can withdraw or change that consent at any time in Settings → Privacy Settings.
- Anonymous usage statistics (section 4) are off by default for you. They are sent only if you turn on Send Anonymous Usage Statistics in Settings, and you can turn them off again at any time.
- The developer does not receive or keep your shopping list. It is only on your iPhone, so you can view, change and delete it in the app, or by deleting the app.
- Google and PostHog process data under their own policies. To use your rights with them, see Google's Privacy Policy, PostHog's Privacy Policy and the pages linked in sections 3 and 4.
7. Deleting data and how long it is kept
- Delete an item: swipe it in the list. Your other items stay.
- Clear Done: deletes all items you have marked as purchased. It deletes them at once and cannot be undone.
- Delete the app: deletes your list and the other data in section 2 from your iPhone, including the random identifier used for usage statistics.
- Stop usage statistics: turn off Send Anonymous Usage Statistics in Settings (section 4).
How long data is kept:
- Data on your iPhone stays until you delete it or delete the app.
- The developer does not hold your shopping list, so there is none of it on the developer's side to delete.
- Feedback mail you sent is kept only as long as needed to reply and resolve the issue, and is deleted on request (section 5).
- Usage events already sent are kept by PostHog for 1 year and are no longer queryable after that. Because they are tied only to a random identifier, the developer cannot tell which events are yours and cannot delete them one by one. To stop sending more, turn off usage statistics or delete the app.
- Data sent to Google is kept as described in Google's policies (see section 3).
8. Transfers of personal information outside Korea
Below are the items listed in Article 28-8(2) of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act for the two companies that receive information from the app.

QuickCart+ shares user data only with the providers named in this policy: Google (ads) and PostHog (usage statistics). Under their published terms and policies, they protect user data at a level the same as or equal to what this policy describes.
9. Your rights
You can view, edit and delete the data on your iPhone in the app at any time. The developer does not hold your shopping list. It receives anonymous usage statistics (section 4), but they are tied only to a random identifier, so the developer does not know who you are and cannot find which events are yours. Apart from feedback mail you choose to send (section 5), there is almost nothing to look up. If you still have a request or a complaint, write to kirade.apps+quickcart@gmail.com. For data held by Google or PostHog, you can also contact them using the links above.
You can change your ad choices and your usage statistics choice at any time (sections 3 and 4).
10. TestFlight
If you install a test build through Apple's TestFlight, the developer can see in App Store Connect the email address and name you were invited with, your sessions and crashes (depending on your iOS analytics settings), and any feedback you send, including screenshots. Apple provides this data. QuickCart+ does not collect it itself.
Starting with version 1.4, test builds also send usage statistics as described in section 4. They are marked as test builds and counted separately from the App Store version.
11. Children
QuickCart+ is not directed to children under 14 (under 13 in the United States). If you believe a child has used the app, contact kirade.apps+quickcart@gmail.com.
12. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.
